After founder and CEO Susan Ramirez attended a conference on the foster care system and heard the words, “Not everyone is called to foster, and not everyone is called to adopt, but anyone can make a difference in a child’s life,” she was gripped with urgency, and soon after, National Angels was born.
National Angels is a compilation of chapters across the country committed to wrapping community around children, youth, and families experiencing foster care by offering consistent support through intentional giving, relationship building, and mentorship.
THe Houston Angels chapter opened in 2019 and has grown significantly over the past several years to reach over 200 families and forever impact the lives of not only children and youth, but their caregivers, volunteers, case workers, and more. We are committed to reaching every child and family across the 13 counties of Region 6 (all of Greater Houston and surrounding counties) to change the statistics of foster care, one child at a time.
