Along with her human children, she resides with her spoiled pets and over 40 houseplants. Despite warnings about the southern heat, they welcome the sunny and humid days in contrast to the negative windchills and gray skies in the Northeast! While in Cleveland, Felicia was both a kinship caregiver and a foster parent. Along with her personal experience she served as a volunteer with the Cleveland Angels, mentoring a youth in foster care. In her former position as Statewide Program Manager for a new initiative in Ohio, she was able to support kinship and adoptive caregivers by promoting permanency for youth. Advocacy for children has been one of her lifelong passions. As a lover of volunteerism, Felicia was seeking opportunities to serve and build connections in Houston while simultaneously searching for employment. Along with certificates in volunteer management and nonprofit management, she also holds a Masters degree in Public Administration with a concentration on Law and Public Policy. When the opportunity to join the board of the Houston Angels presented itself, it was quite serendipitous. Shortly after she accepted a leadership role in a national nonprofit organization. Felicia looks forward to elevating the presence of Houston Angels throughout the region and supporting families and youth. |
